ABOUT US

Our Values

  • Provide excellent and compassionate care in a respectful manner to everyone.
  • Demonstrate integrity by being open, honest, reliable, and dedicated to our mission.
  • Respect the individuals we work with, the people we serve, and the communities of Santa Clara County.
  • Value learning and strive for continual improvement based on what we learn, individually and as an organization.
  • Are accountable for our performance, decisions, and actions.
  • Strive for excellence in all we do.

Our Team

Our employees are our most important resource and are committed to making a difference in the lives of our patients who come from the whole community - many of which are our friends and family (59% of our employees live in South County). Our team of almost 500 employees is dedicated to St. Louise, with 47% working at the hospital for over 10 years and 17% over 20 years. We know that higher levels of employee engagement come from compassionate leadership, so we take pride in being authentic, present, holding everyone accountable, leading with integrity, and showing empathy. Our physicians are part of our family and experts in their particular areas of care. Interestingly, our hospitalists and intensivists are key components to our integrated care model by managing almost all inpatients.

We work hard but have fun by purposefully celebrating achievements regularly and by volunteering in the community often. We are proud of our family atmosphere where everyone looks up, smiles and says “hello” to all passersby. Our volunteer team is an important component of our positive culture with over 160 members who gave 13,500 hours of service this past year.

Our Community

SOUTH SANTA CLARA COUNTY

The South Santa Clara County area is the fastest growing region near Silicon Valley. It is close to San Jose, about an hour from the Monterey Peninsula and within two hours of San Francisco.

While the communities are growing, they still retain the small-town ambiance that is evident as you sit and enjoy a Friday night concert in Morgan Hill or go to one of the many community functions, such as the famous Gilroy Garlic Festival.

Parks in Gilroy

As a “Tree City U.S.A.,” Gilroy is home to more than 400 acres of parkland, and Gilroy has won more park design awards from the California Park and Recreation Society than any other city in California. In addition to Gilroy’s extensive park system, state parks such as Mt. Madonna Park, Henry Coe Park and Adams-Chitactac Park are all nearby.

Outdoor Activities

The climate is perfect for a lifestyle of healthy outdoor activities. Golf courses and outdoor theme parks are both options on nice days. Lake Tahoe and some of the best skiing in the United States is a four-hour drive away. You can take a walk along the beach in the morning, basking in the warm sun, and later that afternoon be skiing on the slopes enjoying the views from the ski lifts.
