Our Services
It is essential for women to have regularly scheduled breast examinations with a physician. Proactive monitoring allows doctors to diagnose and treat problems early, helping you avoid more radical treatment.
We are dedicated to helping women make regular breast care as easy and pleasant as possible.
Our services include:
- Mammogram: A mammogram is a mild X-ray that can detect a lump when it is as small as the head of a pin, long before you can feel it. Our sophisticated low-dose equipment uses less radiation than a traditional chest X-ray.
- Ultrasound: A breast ultrasound detects abnormalities with high-frequency sound waves, helping determine whether tissue is a benign cyst or a potentially cancerous lump. Ultrasound may detect problems that a mammogram does not identify.
- Self-evaluation lessons: We work closely with the American Cancer Society to teach effective self-examination techniques. Our goal is to help you to detect lumps earlier, improving outcomes by allowing your doctor to take action quickly.
Mammogram: What to Expect
A mammogram is one of the primary methods doctors use to screen for lumps and is essential for early breast cancer detection. The American Cancer Society recommends women age 45 and older receive a mammogram every year.
During your mammogram, a technician will help you place your breast on a holder that gently compresses your breast. Medical professionals take X-ray images from different angles, then carefully review the images to identify any abnormalities. Typically, your results are sent to your doctor’s office in 24 to 48 hours.
Getting a mammogram is simple and quick. Our facility is accredited by the American College of Radiology, which recognizes our commitment to providing safe, effective mammogram procedures.
