ST. LOUISE REGIONAL HOSPITAL TO HONOR FIRST RESPONDERS AT 3RD ANNUAL COMMUNITY BBQ

(GILROY, Calif., Sept. 26, 2018) – St. Louise Regional Hospital invites the entire South County community to join hospital employees and physicians for an afternoon food, music, and fun family activities at our 3rd Annual Community BBQ to honor our First Responders. The BBQ will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 11 AM – 3 PM on the St. Louise Regional Hospital campus.

“Our first responders are really the essence of our life here in protecting us and our community,” said Faith Protsman, MD, chief of staff at Saint Louise. “We want to thank them. We don’t think they get enough thanks and recognition, and so we want to do something big for them.” Last year, St. Louise hosted over 300 community friends, staff and physicians to thank our local heroes.

This year, kids of all ages will enjoy visiting with the First Responders and learning about their fire trucks, SWAT vehicle, vintage police car, mounted enforcement unit, and ambulances. Physicians, employees and volunteers from the hospital donate their time and energy to host the successful event which features a BBQ lunch and carnival games. Community agencies will also be in attendance to share information on their services. Funding for the event is covered by local donations and the St. Louise Regional Hospital Foundation.

This year’s event will also feature a Community & Heroes Tug-of-War contest. The community is encouraged to put together their own teams to compete. Teams of all ages are encouraged. Pull for your school, firehouse, workplace, church, police station, etc. The winning team will get bragging rights and a trophy. Register as a Team of 10 or as an Individual by October 10, 2018, by emailing [email protected]. Walk-ins welcome.

We hope you and your family will join us for games, BBQ, Tug-of-War and to say thanks to all of our First Responders!

Emergency personnel and families are our guests. Suggested donation of $5 for community members. Funds exceeding costs will be donated to St. Louise Regional Hospital Foundation.
