The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) is a global program through the World Health Organization to encourage implementation of the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding and the International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes.
California Maternity Honor Roll
Cal Hospital Compare recognizes 124 hospitals on the 2021 Maternity Honor Roll. These hospitals met or surpassed the statewide target aimed at reducing births via C-section in first-time mothers with low-risk pregnancies.
CDC Maternity Practices in Infant Nutrition and Care (MPINC) – Score of 100%
CDC’s national survey assesses maternity care and breastfeeding practices among participating hospitals. The survey calculates a Total mPINC score to indicate its overall level of maternity care practices and policies that support optimal infant feeding.
